Amazing service and group of folks that have diligently cared for our family's three (3) cats at various times when we've been traveling. Have entrusted them with the care of our furbabies for the last year or so, and they do an excellent job. Stow Road Pet Sitters was awesome for my dog Molly. I have an elderly pomeranian who loves attention and their team went above and beyond to take care of Molly and treated her like one of their own while we were away. We had Stow Road come to iur house 3xs a day for almost a week! Each time we were well informed of their arrival, they provided a detailed message of how the visit went and even sent pictures and a video of Molly each visit! I hope to use their services again in the future!

I’ve hired people to take care of my dogs before but they are by far the best people and company I’ve worked with. I hire them to come in the evening when me and my partner are both at work. They let my two dogs out and feed them. They stay for 30 minutes and take 20 plus photos and a video. My dogs look so happy. It is such an anxiety relief while I’m at work knowing they are loved. I appreciate them beyond words can say. I also love that they use an app to schedule and communicate through. It makes scheduling very easy. Especially since I have a weird schedule. I highly recommend them to care for and love your pets!!

We have hired dog sitters before, but never experienced anything quite like this. What should have been a straightforward arrangement for our two small rescue dogs, Sally and Harry, became an expensive, unnecessarily complicated, and distressing experience.

At the time, we had adopted Sally and Harry just five months earlier. The owner knew they were recently adopted rescues and that following our handling instructions was especially important.

We were charged for both a meet-and-greet and a separate trial visit, something we had never encountered with previous sitters. We agreed because we needed dependable care for my college graduation and wanted to avoid last-minute problems.

During the paid meet-and-greet, the owner spent surprisingly little time interacting with our dogs. Nevertheless, we proceeded with the paid trial, which she conducted herself.

She arrived late and had to rush because she had a doctor’s appointment. More concerning, she failed to follow our explicit instructions to leash both dogs immediately upon removing them from their crates.

As a result, Sally got away from her and ended up frightened and hiding.

We subsequently received a photograph showing our little Sally backed against a wall, visibly terrified. That image is something I will never forget. We had trusted this business with two vulnerable rescue dogs, explained their needs, and paid for additional visits supposedly intended to ensure their comfort and safety.

Meanwhile, Harry was anxious because Sally was nowhere near him.

What made this even more concerning was that the owner would not be conducting our regular visits. Those would be handled by employees we had never met. If the owner, who repeatedly described herself as experienced and “dog savvy,” couldn’t follow basic instructions and successfully handle our dogs, how could we feel confident entrusting them to unfamiliar employees?

My partner had also left a written note reinforcing our verbal instructions. Rather than addressing the fact that the instructions weren’t followed, the owner complained that the note was written in cursive, explaining that her Gen Z employees couldn’t read cursive.

I found that astonishing. Ensuring employees understand instructions involving an animal’s safety should be a basic responsibility of any professional pet-care business.

Following the unsuccessful trial, the owner’s proposed solution was yet another trial visit because Sally supposedly needed more time with her.

From our perspective, the business seemed more focused on its app, procedures, and additional paid visits than on understanding our dogs and making us confident in their care.

Ultimately, after paying for these supposedly necessary preliminary steps, we were left without the dependable dog care we needed immediately before my college graduation—the exact situation we had been trying to avoid.

Fortunately, we found someone else who followed our instructions and cared for both dogs without incident, allowing us to attend my graduation without worrying about their safety.

We have owned dogs for years and used other sitters. None required this level of additional paid preparation, and none left us in such a difficult position.

Seeing Sally frightened and backed against a wall after our explicit instructions were ignored was heartbreaking. The fact that the owner herself couldn’t successfully complete the trial, yet expected us to trust employees we had never met, completely undermined our confidence.

Our dogs’ safety and well-being are not negotiable. We would never entrust Sally and Harry to this business again, and based on our experience, I cannot recommend.

RESPONSE: After asking me privately to remove my FB comment, you ignored my explanation and revoked our app access. You changed the appointment time, not us. Your own photo shows Sally backed against a wall. Ironically, the neighbor you criticized cared for our dogs without incident. We stand by our review.

The Stow Road Pet Sitters team are some of the best! We’ve used them for afternoon check ins and playtime and in home vacation care and medication visits for our two dogs, a senior Shih Tzu who is much happier in his home and our enthusiastic, anxious and loving rescue. My dog Lily-Belle is a 4 year old Boston Terrier and we recently enrolled her in the Doggy Daycare and Overnight Boarding Program. I had never left Lily-Belle with anyone prior to this and had been searching for the right fit for quite some time.

I needed someone to take care of my dogs on very short notice, and after seeing how many people around town recommended Stow Road Pet Sitters, I decided to give them a try—and I’m so glad I did!

I called on a Thursday evening, completed their intake Friday morning, met Lori that same night, and had care in place by Saturday. The entire process was seamless and incredibly well-organized.

Throughout the day, they kept me updated with messages, photos of my fur babies, and detailed reports after each visit. Their level of communication and professionalism is truly exceptional.

Lori and her team are amazing! They have easily won over my nervous and timid rescue pup, Nash. He absolutely loves the visits he gets throughout the week by the team members and his doggy daycare sessions with his new friends under their supervision!

This was our first time leaving our dog, Franny, while we went away for the weekend, and Lori and her team made the entire experience incredibly easy and reassuring.

Before our trip, they gathered all the necessary information, asked plenty of thoughtful questions, and came by ahead of time to meet Franny so she would be comfortable and familiar with them. During each visit, they arrived within the scheduled time frame and sent detailed text and photo updates. We always knew how Franny was doing, whether she had eaten, and how they spent their time together—playing outside, relaxing, snuggling, and taking care of her bathroom routine.

I’ve been using Stow Road for in-home vacation visits since my kitties were 4 months old. The care and attention the team provides is unmatched. I am able to go away for work or vacation and feel completely confident that not only will my fur babies be comfortable and taken care of but also that my home will be respected. The reports they provide are thorough and entertaining, including photos and videos. There have been occasions where one of my kitties needed extra attention or medication and Lori’s team was on it.

Great company to have, lori is there when we can't feed our cats, not only that she took the time to help me personally with all the online questions and the way she cares about the her customers, pets and your home is amazing and it shows...her and her staff go out of their way so you can have a comfortable time away

This was our first time leaving our dog Clementine home alone for a few nights, so we were unsure about how it would go. Clem is sometimes a little wary of new people (especially coming to her house), but the team at Stow Road Pet Sitters made her feel so comfortable. They came in for a few vacation visits, gave her lots of belly scratches and treats (which she loved), and sent us so many photos and updates (which we loved)! The team was fantastic, and we will definitely use them again!

The communication was outstanding from start to finish. They sent a text when they were on their way to each visit and another when they were leaving, which was incredibly reassuring. During every visit, they sent around 10 photos and a video, along with detailed updates twice a day about how everyone was doing.
One of my cats requires medication and medical management, and Lori and her team kept me informed every step of the way with updates on medications and how my cat was tolerating everything. They handled his care professionally, carefully, and compassionately, which gave me tremendous peace of mind while we were away.
They were also incredibly kind and patient with my more skittish cat, taking the time to make sure she felt safe and comfortable. I came home to happy cats and spotless litter boxes, which speaks volumes about the level of care and attention they provided.
The app they use made everything so easy to manage, from scheduling and communication to payments. The entire process was seamless and stress-free.

I do want to add this was my first time ever using a pet sitter other than family and I obviously was a bit nervous but you can absolutely see Stow Road put our family right at ease!

Lori and her team are amazing! After utilizing a kennel for my highly dog reactive dog (40 lb female pitbull), she would come home hoarse from barking and extra tired. Since using Stow Road Pet Sitters, anytime I have gone away, I come home to a calm and happy pup! Lori’s team is respectful of my home and fully communicative of how my pup is doing with her bathroom and eating routines. The cost has been comparable to a kennel with the perks of someone coming to my home 3 times a day to feed, let out and play with my pup. We've been bringing our dogs, Sam and Molly, to Stow Road Pet Sitters for weekly half-day daycare for about a year now, and we've been very happy with the experience.

Lori runs a thoughtful, professional operation and places a strong emphasis on the safety and well-being of the dogs in her care. Before accepting new daycare dogs, she takes the time to meet them, evaluate their temperament, and make sure they're a good fit. She also keeps detailed health and vaccination records and is careful about maintaining a safe environment for everyone.

Communication is excellent. Lori sends regular newsletters with updates about the business, staff, and any changes, so we always know what’s going on. It's clear she puts a lot of care into running her business and training the people who work with the dogs.

Most importantly, Sam and Molly love going to daycare. They come home happy and tired every Tuesday, which tells me all I need to know. We always feel comfortable leaving them in Lori's care, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Stow Road Pet Sitters to anyone looking for daycare.

I recommend Stow Road Pet Sitters. Lori and her team are reliable, communicative, and caring. Our dog has attended daycare, gone on Adventure Walks, and recently completed a week boarding stay. The team worked with our dog to make sure she got slow and thoughtful introductions to the other dogs and felt comfortable in the space. During our trip, we received updates and pictures. We felt at ease leaving her there despite never having boarded her before. With the onboarding process, attending daycare prior, and doing an overnight trial, we knew she was in good hands. My husband and I plan to do a bit of travelling in the next few years and although family has worked great in the past we wanted to A) ensure our pup was socializing with other dogs and B) have reliable care in place for week + long periods. We decided on Stow Road for a number of reasons - flexible day care to burn off some energy, boarding schedules that were not so rigid that I would be required to board for an extra 2-3 days at a time, and transparency when it came to the facilities, activities and care. In addition, Stow Road makes every effort to learn each dog’s personality and group ‘like’ dogs together when possible. We started with doggy dare care and after a just a couple of visits knew we had made the right choice. Our pup does not want to leave, is tuckered out the remainder of the day (sometimes into the next) and eventually knew where those morning car rides were bringing her.
We are so happy to be comfortable with the care our pup will receive when we are away!

I have used Stow Road Sitter’s From for many years, I can’t say enough about these people. They have cared for two cats and an elderly dog. The dog is very shy and they took the time to gain his trust. which means a lot to me because he gets very anxious and nervous. My two cats are not very social with new people and they managed to gain their trust also. One particular time when I was away I ran out of canned cat food they offered to go to the store and pick up some cans to tie them over. Which I thought was awesome. One of the sitters actually brought their own cat food from their home so my cats would still have their evening treat! They take loads of pictures so I am comfortable when I’m away that they’re doing great quite honestly I think they were a little sad when I come home and they’re a little vacation is over.

Lori is always so accommodating, she truly loves our pets!

This review is only based on my experience trying to schedule a "meet and greet" with this pet sitting service. I booked a "meet and greet" appointment from their website, and answered all their questions including my dog's name, age, breed, weight, etc. Once the appointment was confirmed, I received a link which takes me to a portal to complete their onboarding process. They asked tons of questions, including the garage code, alarm code and the positions of any cameras in the home, which is really unusual because I only booked a half hour "meet and greet" with them to collect some information before deciding whether to enroll my dog.
The day before the "meet and greet", I got a text from them saying they have to cancel the appointment because they are short of staff on the day of the appointment so whoever was going to come and meet us have to work at the pet daycare and won't be available to meet. This would raise some concern since they appeared to take more dogs in beyond their capacity, but they also blamed me for not completing the onboarding steps and sending them my dog's medical records for review BEFORE the "meet and greet".
I looked through all the emails and texts received from this business, and nowhere says I was required to fill out everything before the first meeting. Why would this business want me to share my home alarm code, garage code and camera placement before I make a decision on whether to use their service? They should admit the whole reason for them to cancel this appointment was due to shortage of workers on the morning of the meeting.

We were so impressed by the service provided by Stow Road Pet Sitters while we were on a five-day trip out of town! We’ve tried different pet care services in the past, but no one has come close to providing the level of care and attention to detail that this team did. Our cat is 17 years old and needs medication twice a day, as well as regular interaction with people – needs that were addressed by twice-a-day visits from a Stowe Road team member. Each visit was meticulously documented and we received in-depth updates with pictures and videos morning and evening showing our cat to be happy and relaxed and maintaining her usual food and litter box habits. We’ve never felt this reassured before that our cat was well and doing fine during our absence, an experience all the more valued given our cat’s age and health issues. The final confirmation of the quality of care she received is how much calmer and more relaxed she was when we got back than she usually is after we’ve been away on a trip.

We absolutely love our dog walkers. They have been so wonderful and reliable. They use our code to come in and walk our Charlie girl while we are at work. Always give her love and water and lock back up before leaving. It’s a no-brainer for any family who works during the days and has sports at night!

Stow Road Per Sitters have been wonderful with our dog Niko. He is super shy, but they have been so patient with him. They are getting him out of his shell and he loves going for walks with them. They are excellent at communication and providing reports on how Niko does.

They took exceptional care of my two cats, Baloo and Samora, and truly catered to their individual personalities. Samora is shy, and they were so patient and gentle with her that she soon let her guard down, became confident around them, and even started demanding cuddles. Baloo, on the other hand, is a hyper-active kitty, and they made sure every visit included plenty of playtime with his favorite laser toy so he could burn off all that extra energy.

I can’t say enough about stow road pet sitters and every staff member they have! I looked into them after seeing a yard sign on my way to preK drop off. We went out of town for the first time since getting our puppy (10 months old and a LOT of dog) and I was pretty anxious. He’s a kennel boy but due to recent illness, we wanted to have him comfortable at home to avoid any rebound illness. So glad we did. The members of the team at stow were incredible and so attentive. Every day before arriving they sent an eta notification and then after the visit, a complete workup. I’m talking parent teacher assessment- level 🤣maybe even more than what you get for children. After all the details of the visit and how he was overall, they provide a checklist of essentials: water refreshed, potty, treats, his energy level. It was amazing and put us at ease. My kids loved seeing the photos every few hours from each visit. They are true professionals too, making sure they have all details before they care for your pet which I appreciate. Stow road pet sitters took wonderful care of our dog, Beau while we were away. We needed an alternative to boarding as he does not do well away. Lori and her team visited and walked Beau multiple times a day so he could stay in the comfort of home. Our dog deals with anxiety and reactivity towards vehicles, especially when someone unfamiliar is walking him. Stow road sitters took the time to get to know Beau and how to handle him, despite Beau's difficulties at the start. By the end of the second day, Beau was behaving and excited for every walk and visit. The communication provided by Lori and the walking team was amazing- they provided detailed accounts of every walk and visit along with photos. We were incredibly happy with the attentive care stow road provided for our dog. We felt at ease that he was safe and in good hands while we were away.

Lori and her staff are wonderful. We’ve boarded our German Shepherd for both long and short stays and she has always had a great time. We love that she’s in a home environment and gets to be a member of the family. We get updated daily with photos and anecdotes so we never have to worry about how she’s doing.

We highly recommend Stow Road Pet Sitters. We have used many pet sitters in the past to take care of our cats, and Stow Road has been the best by far. Some of the things that we felt made them stand out from the others were that each day, they communicated their ETA. Hence, we knew when they would be at the house, they sent pictures and videos of their interactions with the cats after each visit, and they provided a written summary of their visits. They asked questions if there was anything unclear or unusual. I could write so much more about the professionalism, caring, and overall quality of their service, but to summarize, they are by far the best service we’ve ever used and will continue to use them in the future.

Our family has one dog and two cats that require care whenever we are out of town. Lori and her team have always been really great at sending detailed updates on how the pets are doing, as well as communicating frequently if they have any questions about the instructions we have left (change in medication, etc.). Our dog is quite sensitive to meeting new people, and Lori has been very patient with her as she comes out of her shell.
